The Paper Factory, Pt. II

Twilight was about to pick up the package when a worker walked by.  He looked into the bin and said, “It looks like we left one.”  Being a unicorn he lifted it up with magic, and started to walk away with Dashie.  Twilight called out, “No!  I think that is my friend, ’Rainbow Dash!’ “The unicorn answered, “You friend is a folded up piece of paper?  I think not!”  He started wondering if the rumors of insanity within the royalty of Equestria might be true.  Twilight called out, “Wait, I’ll buy the package from you,”  But then she remembered the had spent her last bit on the tours and souvenirs from the tour!  She was torn by indication to go back and get more bits or follow the pony to see where they were taking the package.  In the end she followed the unicorn with the package.

He walked up to a supervisor and asked what to do with the package?  The supervisor picked it up and felt the soft, vellum like surface of the ‘paper.’  He knew that this was special.  He said, “I know just what to do with this!  We have a special machine for this!”  To Twilight’s horror Dashie was thrown into a new bin and the supervisor turned on the machine and left.  Twilight attempted to reach into the machine to reach for her friend.  Instead of grabbing the package she fell in.
Meanwhile the pincers started unfolding the package that was Rainbow Dash.  Its sensors detected the presence of a new object within the bin.  It sensed that this new object was not paper thin, thus not ready for processing.  It picked up Twilight and threw her out of the bin. Twilight thought, “Wait!  I have wings!”  But before she could flap them she bounced, head first into a set of rollers.  He flank pushed against a button, turning the machine on.  Stunned, her head was fed through the rollers squashing it flat.  The rest of her body was fed through the rollers.  In moments she was a large, flat representation of her former three dimensional self.  At once she was fed though another series of rollers and then another until Twilight was paper thin.

Meanwhile the first machine had unfolded Dashie and started cutting her along the creases into strips two pages wide.  The pincers separated the strips into stacks.  A sewing needle ran along the crease of one stack of strips sewing them together.  Soon there was a series of bound ‘pages’ waiting to be bound together.

The paper thin twilight was fed onto a platform , being crushed just like Dashie had been  In three minutes time Twilight was a large paper thin square.

The strips of Dashie that were marred with blemishes, such as the face, cutie mark, main and tail, were gathered together pressed together to form the  hard back cover of the new ‘book.’  Quickly the bound pantalets that was the rest of Dashie were bound together to make the pages of the book.  The uneven sides to the pages were trimmed to make them uniformly flat sides.  Gold leaf was painted to the sides of Dashie giving them a sparkly, golden color.  The pages and cover were bound and glued together finally turning Dashie into a uniformly blue colored, hard bound book.  As it was her fate, the words;”Spell Book” was pressed in gold on the cover and the spine of Dashie...  Finished, Dashie was deposited in a bin for pick up.

The bundle that was Twilight was again deposited to the original bin and the process of making a new spell bock had begun.  In minutes a new, violet spell book was deposited beside the light blue one.

Dashie was horrified that her fate was to be a book.  Not so for Twilight,  After the initial shock of what happened set in Tight decided to there were worse fates to being a book.  That was before she realized who she was sold to.

Trixie was shopping for a new spell book when she saw a display featuring a light blue and a light violet book being side by side.  They were beautiful, with gold trim and gold printing on the cover.  Not only that they were on sale.  When the clerk was asked as to why these works of art were on sale she was told that soft groans and moans could be heard emanation from inside the books as if they were alive.  This did not bother Trixie.  If anything she could work it into her show. She thought about the blue one but she fancied the violet one,  It reminded her of Twilight and she could fantasize that it was actually Twilight she owned.  Little did she know!  Bits were exchanged and Trixie was the proud owner of a brand new Allicorn Princess Spell book.

It took a while before Dashy was sold.  In the end Rairity bought her, not that she needed a spell book but because the book was absolutely gorgeous and she simply had to own it.

When Trixie began to transcribe her spells into new spell book Twilight moaned happily.  It felt almost like a massage.  Soon Trixie was training her book to moan on cue and incorporated the spell book into her act.  At first Twilight resisted but she felt such joy when Trixie cast spells from her soon she was Trixies’s obedient, loving property,  Gone was the old Twilight, The spell book realized she was now forever just a spell book  and that would be all she would be.  She strove to please her mistress in every way possible.  Trixie discovered that spells cast out of her new spell book were even more powerful than before and soon Trixie was truly great and powerful. Still she found herself becoming more humble and caring through Twilight’s influence.  She even learned to value friendship and became an allicorn in her own right, the new Princess of Friendship.

It would be some time before Dashie would be used for what she was intended for.  Rairity would keep her find on display, unused for the book’s designed function.  Rairity thought about using Dashie as a journal but never got around to doing so.  Dashie would occasionally moan or groan out of boredom and frustration.

Meanwhile Sweetie Bell took an interest in the unused spell book and partly because of the book she took an interest in magic.  She soon discovered that she had a talent for it and studied to be a mage.  When she graduated from Wizard’s school, Rairity presented Sweetie Bell with her very own spell book, Dashie.  So bored with just lying around Dashie put her heart into being the best spell book Sweetie Bell could own.  The spells cast out of Dashie proved to be quite powerful, not as powerful as from Trixie’s book.

Twilight Sparkle and Rainbow Dash were never heard from again but two spell book artifacts became mythic for their power, especially when use for friendship and were greatly sought after.  They became bacons of friendship. Thus it was that they suffered not such a bad fate after all.

Lolocator has already said everything I could say about this story, and he's said it better than I ever could.  Just because the protagonists of this story came to enjoy their fate doesn't mean anyone would.
